New Member: Health Care Department of the Vinnytsia City Council

The NCSH network is joined by the health care department of the Vinnytsia City Council – a key player in ensuring healthcare provision and safety in Vinnytsia's community in Ukraine.

They introduce themselves and their important work below:

Health care department of the Vinnytsia City Council is a local self-government body in the field of health care.

Mission: The Department of Health Care organises medical services for the population of the territorial community and contributes to ensuring the needs of the population in the field of health care. Vinnytsia's urban community consists of 9 settlements: the city of Vinnytsia and 8 surrounding settlements. The territory of the community is 255.1 km² and the population consists of more than 400k people.

The department develops and implements a community development strategy in the field of health care, ensures the implementation of state and local socio-economic, medical-sanitary, and health-preventive programs. Furthermore, the role of the department is to manage the network of medical institutions. The health care network of our community is represented by 12 city health care institutions: 5 hospitals, 5 primary care centers, 2 consultative medical centers.

There are also 7 regional and more than 100 private health care facilities of various capacities in the territory of Vinnytsia. The purpose of the local self-government and communal health care system is to provide needs of the community population in medical services.

Our strategic tasks in the conditions of military aggression are:
- provision of medical services
- continuous medical care
- patient safety
- increasing transparency
- anti-corruption policy
- community involvement
- transformation and sustainable development
